Lyrical Roulette is a thirteen (13) Episode television pilot created by Tim Grant and hosted by Dupre “DoItAll” Kelly (Lords of the Underground) that revolves around the true essence of Hip-Hop music and the skills one has to possess to be called an Emcee. The concept behind Lyrical Roulette is to bring in ten unsigned rappers together to compete for a development deal. The development deal will consist of studio time, production, promotion and business management.
RAPPERS will compete against each other by being put through various skill tests during the show such as songwriting, beat production, hip-hop knowledge, improvisation and head to head Battling. The series will also have guest appearances and possible participation by notable Hip-Hop personalities. Each episode will also feature an unsigned producer who will use their respective beats during the competition. In each episode, 2 rappers go head to head and put through challenges like Freestyle, Hip-Hop Knowledge (10 Question Test), Creative Challenge (which is creating a song with a given producer and topic, it''ll be judged by creativeness) and MC Battle (elimination Round).
PRODUCERs must supply beats when rappers are freestyling, battling and creating a song. The PRODUCERs will play a major role in creating and working with a variety of artists and celebrities. DoItAll from Lords of the Underground is the host. Various Hip-Hop Notables will make guest appearances.
Lyrical Roulette is basically a show that tests how you can stand the pressure and to see if you have what it takes to be an emcee and not a one hit wonder. Winner receives Development Deal which consists of Production, Studio Time and Management, holding your own showcase, interviews with Hip-Hop Publications and Mixtape Slots.
