Social/Political Discussion

I was listening to Marvin Gaye...everybody know Marvin Gaye right?

Heard the song "Inner City Blues" play on the radio...I turned it up...jamming soulfully to soulful message displayed in the song. Marvin Gaye had just as much soul in the 70's as James Brown did in the 50's. But if you heard the song "Inner City Blues", you tend to think about present day as history repeats itself.

Question...

Should Reparations be given to the entire Minority group (not population but in a power sense) to establish Institutes to better progress their lives for a better future for Humanity as a whole?

In March 1865 congress passed a reparations billed that acknowledged the terrible history of slavery in the U.S. Also, with the passage of this bill congress sought to give newly freed slaves a springboard towards economic independence in the U.S. This bill was in turn vetoed by then President Andrew Johnson(who was pro-slavery). The bill would have afforded descendants of slaves up to 40 acres of land and they would have been allowed to borrow mules from the Union Army.

I guess the questions are obvious. Do you support reparations, why or why not? Does the country owe anything to Americans of African descent that can prove they are descendands of slaves? Do you support the reparations paid to the jews by Germany. What about reparations paid to American descdants from Japan due to their treatment by the U.S. govt. during WWII?
